Christopher Brown, II, several community members, and hundreds nationwide gathered together on the beautiful campus of Alcorn State University to commemorate “A Man of Justice.” Medgar Wiley Evers, a civil rights activist, was involved in several efforts to overturn segregation in the State of Mississippi. Today, the Alcorn family honored Evers for his courage and persistence in allowing blacks to be afforded the same opportunities to be proactive citizens in their neighborhoods.
